A large majority of us now work in offices and are seated for most of the day, however the body is not designed to be sitting down for extended stretches of time.
Our posture is vital. It influences the arrangement of our organs, bones and muscles which can have repercussions when out of alignment. So how exactly do we make sure we assume correct posture? Let’s take a look!

You need to position your computer screen should sit at eye level so there’s no strain on your neck. You can do this by aligning your eye-line with the top of the monitor if you’re looking straight forward. If you only have a laptop you should consider purchasing a monitor to connect it to so you’re not always looking down. This is could hold huge benefits for such a minor adjustment.
We’re not supposed to stay seated for lengthy periods of time. Although sometimes our schedules don’t allow them, you should hold works breaks in the same regard and importance as your attendance at work itself. Regularly taking breaks gives you a moment to stretch your back and legs which is positive for your posture. More regular short breaks is more beneficial than infrequent longer breaks. A great excuse to head down to the kitchen for a round hot beverages and Nakd bars.

Exercises to improve posture
There are also many exercises you can work into your routine – all of these can be performed wherever you are - at work, at home or at the gym. Planks are a fantastic mobile exercise you can carry out to work out your back, shoulders, abs and core muscles. Shoulder rolls are another simple exercise you can do to eradicate any strains or tensions which could be present. Elsewhere, back extensions are another great exercise to benefit your posture - this involves raising your shoulders up from a lying position on your stomach.
